File Your US Expat Taxes Confidently
Navigate FEIE, Foreign Tax Credit, FBAR, FATCA, and state filings with AI-powered guidance tailored for Americans abroad.
Key Filing Dates & Deadlines
Americans abroad get extra time to file. Here are the deadlines that matter for your 2026 tax year return — remember, an extension to file is not an extension to pay.
Tax payment due date for all US taxpayers. Any tax owed must be paid by this date to avoid interest and penalties — even if you file later.
If you live outside the US on April 15, you automatically get a 2-month extension to file — no form required. Interest still accrues on any unpaid tax from April 15.
File Form 4868 by June 15 to extend your filing deadline to October 15. This is also the FBAR (FinCEN 114) automatic extended deadline.
Need even more time? Expats can request an additional 2-month extension to December 15 by writing to the IRS. Approval is at the IRS's discretion.

Expat Tax FAQs
Do I need to file US taxes if I live abroad?
Yes. US citizens and green card holders must file US income tax returns annually, regardless of where they live or earn income. This applies to worldwide income. However, you may be able to exclude or credit foreign earned income to reduce or eliminate your US tax liability.
What is the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion?
The Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (FEIE) allows you to exclude up to $126,500 of foreign earned income from your US taxable income if you meet the bona fide residence or physical presence test. This can eliminate your US federal income tax obligation.
When is FBAR filing required?
You must file Form 114 (FBAR) if you have foreign financial accounts with aggregate balances exceeding $10,000 at any point during the year. This includes bank accounts, investment accounts, and retirement accounts held abroad.
Is my data secure when filing US expat taxes?
Yes. We use 256-bit TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. We are IRS-authorized and comply with all FATCA reporting requirements. Your financial information is never shared or sold.
